Our beautiful, new facility is equipped with all the necessary equipment to rehabilitate your musculoskeletal injury to the best condition possible. More importantly, our physical therapy staff is second-to-none with their training and experience to provide you with a personalized program to a speedy recovery and maximum results. Our physical therapy department adheres to the basic premise of the entire facility: providing the newest technology with old-fashioned, personalized care.

Physical therapy serves to restore and improve musculoskeletal and neuromuscular function and mobility within the human body in order to ultimately enhance and prolong quality of life and independence.

It is a diverse practice, treating people of all ages that have medical or health-related injuries, illnesses or conditions that limit their ability to perform activities of daily living or more advanced skills such as sports. These activities can be as simple as regaining enough strength in the muscles of the hand to hold a toothbrush to the more complex activity of a gymnastics skill.

Physical therapists’ (PTs) services and expertise go far beyond rehabilitation post-injury.

physical therapy3Prevention of injury and disability, as well as maintenance and promotion of optimal physical fitness past restoration of normal function play equally important roles in the practice of physical therapy. Additionally, many PTs specialize in areas such as orthopedics, pediatrics, geriatrics, cardiovascular/pulmonary, and neurology to provide advanced expertise and enhance their services.

In order to fully understand the scope of a patient’s needs and provide a plan of treatment, PTs follow a protocol that includes:

  • a comprehensive assessment
  • a diagnosis
  • a program including treatments using therapeutic modalities and/or exercises to reduce pain, restore function, and improve the ability to move
  • health and fitness programs to promote and maintain optimal health and fitness as well as prevent future injury from occurring

The benefits of seeking the professional help and guidance of a PT are numerous.

Since long-term success in mobility and function are the goals in a physical therapy program, PTs will prescribe self-programs that can be continued by the patient and are non-invasive and non-surgical to progress toward restorative healing and maintenance. Programs focus on increasing flexibility, strength and endurance in the musculature of concern while often working to build core stability. Additionally, working with a physical therapist to overcome immobility and other inhibitions is a rewarding process because the patient plays a main role in their own journey of physical healing and restoration. PTs work together with their patients to improve, restore, and maintain pain-free motion. Depending on the needs of the patient, the patient may progress on to more advanced skills such as sports.

Our goal is to help each patient recover to the highest level of function desired if at all possible.

The exercises, stretches, therapeutic techniques, and ways of healthy living learned over the course of an entire physical therapy program are applicable to life even after the program with the physical therapist ends. The long-term application of these health and fitness skills and habits make physical therapy a unique form of self-sustaining treatment to the patient. Physical therapy is a great option for those looking to prevent injury, restore and maintain mobility and function, as well as enhance future performance.
