Dr. Joe Cooper is an Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and orthopedic treatments of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. Dr. Cooper, who has trained under foremost leaders in sports medicine, is committed to helping patients of all ages achieve optimal performance, whether that be professional sports or an active and pain free lifestyle. Dr. Cooper currently serves as a physician for the US Ski and Snowboard teams.

Dr. Cooper attended undergrad at Washington University in St. Louis, pitching for the Bears baseball team while earning a B.S. in biology and neuroscience. He went on to medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and graduated with honors. Dr. Cooper then completed his residency at the University of Southern California, where he was selected by his faculty as both an American Orthopedic Association (AOA) resident leader and an emerging leader in the field of orthopedics.

Dr. Cooper, on the back of his residency accolades, pursued specialized training at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado. At Steadman, he received training from a team of leaders in sports medicine, including Doctors Tom Hackett, Peter Millett, Marc Philippon, and Matt Provencher. During his fellowship, Dr. Cooper learned advanced arthroscopic and reconstructive surgical techniques for the treatment of complex disorders of the knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow as well as all sports-related injuries. Dr. Cooper served as the point-of-care for professional athletes from an array of leagues (NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, ATP/WTA, and PGA tours), and treated collegiate, high school, and recreational athletes.
